We will hold a customization event during the period below, allowing you to make your own original leather binder.

< Leather and Hardware Options >

You can choose from two types of premium leather for this customization event: “Scratch Leather” and “Pull-Up Leather.”

“Scratch Leather”

Crafted in the Tuscany region of Italy, Scratch Leather is an avant-garde, vegetable-tanned leather infused with an abundance of oils.
Its most defining characteristic is the bold, flowing scratches intentionally carved into the beautiful grain by skilled artisans.
With daily use, the oils inside naturally seep out, causing the valleys of the scratches and the peaks of the grain to acquire a distinct, beautiful luster and a deep patina.
Boasting an overwhelming presence and dramatic aging, this leather is the perfect companion for a PLOTTER (one who plans)—a tool to weave your thoughts and engrave your own journey.

“Pull-Up Leather”

For our Pull-Up Leather selection, we have prepared “Chromexcel” and “Derby” from the renowned American tannery, Horween Leather Company.
“Chromexcel” is crafted using a 90-year-old unaltered secret recipe, where an original blend of oils and waxes is slowly infused into the hide.
It features a rich, heavy, and robust texture. Due to this high oil content, one of its greatest charms is the striking color shifts (pull-up effect) that you can enjoy through use.
(Please note that the Black color does not show significant color change over time.)
It is dyed using the “tea-core” (Oka-zome) method, where only the surface is dyed without a base dye, allowing the natural brown undertones to beautifully surface over time.
“Derby” is characterized by its rustic and rugged texture.
This vegetable-tanned leather is generously infused with a rich blend of waxes and tumbled (milled),which accentuates the natural shading and three-dimensional texture of the hide. While rugged, it offers a more supple texture compared to other Horween leathers.
The tumbling process gives it a broken-in, vintage feel, presenting a tough and powerful appearance.

Both leathers display stunning tonal gradients thanks to the rich pull-up effect.
As you use them, they will age beautifully, developing a deeper, exquisite luster and character.
